The Regulatory IV Interagency Wetlands Identification and Delineation Course was developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in conjunction with Section 307(e) of the Water Resources Development Act of 1990 for the then-proposed Wetland Delineator Certification Program.  It is used by the Corps to train their regulatory field staff.  We have taken the original Regulatory IV Course materials and updated them as new regulatory guidance has been provided.

In this 4-day course, students learn to identify and delineate wetlands in accordance with the Federal Wetland Delineation Manual,  Regional Supplements, and additional regulatory guidance. The course provides participants with the background necessary to identify wetlands and determine their boundaries for permitting under Sections 404 and 401 of the Clean Water Act or for avoidance or minimization of wetland impacts.
