This 2-day course introduces wetland delineators to the soil profile characterization methods used in conducting jurisdictional wetland determinations in accordance with Regional Supplements to the 1987 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual.Participants will learn how to distinguish hydric from non-hydric soils and how to identify and describe organic and mineral soils using criteria and NRCS field indicators of hydric soils.Half of each day will be spent in the field describing both hydric and non-hydric soil profiles.18 professional development hours are available upon successful completion of this course.  Successful completion is determined by attendance and participation in all lecture, field, and laboratory sessions.
